Senator Mulroe on the Senate floorSchools in Senate District 10 will receive nearly $6,000 in funding this year through the Secretary of State’s School District Library Grant program.

The program helps public schools in Illinois purchase library books and materials.

“I’d like to congratulate the four schools in District 10 that were awarded the School District Library Grant,” Mulroe said. “I can’t wait to see what each school will do with the funding to enrich the lives of its students. I hope that even more schools will take advantage of this opportunity and apply for the program next year.”

The following schools will receive library grants:

• East Maine School District 63 – $2,494.50
• Ridgewood Community High School District 234 – $750
• Schiller Park School District 81 –$984.75
• Union Ridge School District 86 – $750

All public schools are eligible to apply for the program. Grants are awarded based on student enrollment, and funding is appropriated by the legislature. Applications are due in October. Interested schools can find out more about the program by visiting the secretary of state’s website.
